Arrange a memoirs writing class in your area. Candace Wilson teaches classes on memoirs writing  in venues such as retirement communities, senior centers, community colleges, churches, and more. She is currently on the Adjunct Faculty at Edmonds Community College, Edmonds, Washington.

Candace is also available for individual coaching for beginning writers.

NOTE:  All classes can be adjusted to meet the needs of participants.

Workshops:
1-1/2 – 2 hours
In this class, Candace will talk about what memoir is, why it is good for us, and lead writing exercises designed to get participants started on their project. Included in the workshop are handouts of guidelines and writing prompts, as well as a bibliography.

Day Long Intensive
6-8 hours
In this class, Candace will define memoir and why it is good for us to write our stories, discuss elements of good writing, such as description, character, dialogue, and theme, and suggest how to organize the work. She will lead several writing and sharing sessions designed to get participants started or moved further along in their memoirs projects. Handouts will include guidelines and writing prompts, writing exercises, and other tools.

Weekend Memoir Intensive
8-15 hours
Candace will work with clients to design the weekend intensive to meet participant needs. Topics may include elements of memoir, developing a writing practice, aspects of good writing craft, such as description, character, dialogue, and theme, writer’s block, how writing helps our health, what to leave out, and more. Handouts will include guidelines, writing prompts, exercises, and other tools.

6-8 Session Class (Available in larger Seattle area only)
Candace is available to teach 6-8-session classes covering aspects of memoir, elements of writing craft, development of theme, and memoir organization. Students will gain fluency as they develop their own unique writing practice, perform writing exercises in and out of class at their own rate, and practice technique.
