Memoirs Class
This was an excellent beginning course for Memoir Writing. Candace is a warm, witty, totally non-threatening person, which is what is needed to coach this type of writing. We were all at different levels in our memoir journey, and she was able to accommodate our differences with the various exercises and techniques she presented.

Memoir writing is so different from the everyday business writing most of us do that it takes much longer (for most people) to get comfortable with this style of writing. Because Candace understands this, she provided just the right mentoring approach for each of us.

Memoirs Consulting
Candace Wilson has been crucial in the publication of my book, Maybe Milton Should Go Work In The Woods. The book project had stalled ten years after its beginning start, and I was discouraged. Candace assisted with writing, editing, as well as an overall organization of the book. She poured over old photos, articles, and genealogy facts, and made suggestions about what to include and or leave out. Candace Wilson has been a superior associate and a critical factor in the final publication of my book. I highly recommend her to anyone embarking on the writing of their memoirs.

Collaborative Writing
Candace Wilson and I worked together writing a “do-it-yourself” book.  She is someone you can count on to be respectful of your ideas and work.  I found her to be both supportive and encour-aging while remaining focused on producing a work of clarity and thoughtfulness.  She is an excellent critical thinker and has a vast vocabulary for capturing just the right nuance for expressing an elusive concept. I really appreciated her organizational skills and work ethic.  Candace is a pleasure to work with.

Memoirs Workshop
When I told her about our new series of free experiential writing workshops at Edmonds Community College, Candace was quick to lend a hand. She designed a hands-on workshop called “How Can I Write about My Life?” which provided a supportive learning experience for a diverse group of students and community members interested in writing memoir. A warm and accessible teacher, Candace encouraged students to write their own stories, and everyone went home with a terrific packet of handouts and resources for self-directed writing.
